NOWHERE2RUN — the electronic venture of Code Orange members Jami Morgan and Shade Balderose — are back. A year on from the duo’s debut EP, Slivering the Senses, they’ve returned to follow it up with an EP titled What Did You Do?, which features guest appearances from rap-punk twosome Ho99o9, experimental rapper Backxwash and more.
The six-song record will be delivered through Balderose and Morgan’s own NOWHERE RECORDINGS imprint on Halloween. That said, they’re offering up a treat ahead of time in the form of a video for opening number “Motives.” The song takes on a murky, club-dustrial feel full of bass-boomed beats and electronics-frazzled melodies, while it also features an extra-whispery and deceptively aggro vocal turn from Morgan.

As for the motive behind the sophomore EP, Morgan noted that “it felt like the right time to lower the mask and reveal a little bit of NOWHERE2RUNS identity as artists.”
He added: “We constructed this project through the lens of a mystery, something very dark and tech noir-ish. It feels like an appropriate way to start to tell the story of where we are at and where we have been.”
Along with NOWHERE2RUN’s core duo, What Did You Do? also features contributions from Kamiyada, Lecx Stacy, Sadistik and Erex. The collection was recorded and self–produced between Los Angeles and Pittsburgh over the past year. You’ll find the full tracklisting and cover art down below.
NOWHERE2RUN are also staging a series of “BLOODRAVE” parties across the U.S., which find the pair showcasing “goth, techno and industrial music in an all-encompassing, multisensory environment.” The dates are below, while ticketing info is over over here.
