Super old-school Bring Me the Horizon fans just had their prayers answered: The U.K. heavy force have announced an upcoming full-album performance of their deathcore-flavored debut LP, Count Your Blessings, to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
The gig takes place July 10th at Manchester, U.K.’s B.E.C. Arena, and it’s being staged by the band and the team behind Outbreak Fest. Prior to today’s (April 13th) official announcement, a series of “Pray for Plagues” posters began popping up around Manchester — these now obviously referring to the first masher cut off Count Your Blessings.
BMTH will be performing the 2006 album in full for the very first time, while a show poster — which you can see down below — notes that they’ll also be playing other “bangers.” Notably, the poster also presents an era-appropriate, jet black-bang-heavy promo photo of the band, as well as a description of BMTH as “scrappy deathcore played by a bunch of hair farmers from Sheffield, U.K.”
Opening up at B.E.C. Arena will be Static Dress, Dying Wish, Heriot, Rolo Tomassi, Car Underwater and Still In Love. The pre-sale begins at 10am GMT on Wednesday (April 15th), while general ticket sales begin on Friday (April 17th).
The show also coincides with an upcoming re-recorded version of the album, dubbed Count Your Blessings | Repented. The original album was fully re-recorded, with vocalist Oli Sykes and guitarist Lee Malia “helming the process” alongside producer and Humanity’s Last Breath member Buster Oldhenholm, who also mixed the record.
Press materials suggest the musicians found “potent new life” through the process, “reaffirming the landmark album and why Bring Me The Horizon remain one of the most important bands in the world.”
