While Angel Du$t brought the heat earlier this year with their three-song, hardcore-edged The Beat EP, the eclectic unit have revealed that they’ll be Cold 2 the Touch by 2026 — for that’s the name of the band’s next LP.
The act revealed plans for their next album today (October 22nd) via a music video for its title track. The tune begins with a double-time galloping punk beat, sports a few bendy micro solos, and involves a swaggering, sing-along vocal turn from Justice Tripp during the pop-centric break. As for the music video, which you can see up above, it presents performance footage with scenes of creepy-crawly tarantulas, ultra-pliable contortionists, intricate choreography near a coffin, and more.
The album, which properly follows up 2023’s BRAND NEW SOUL, was recorded with Brian McTernan (Turnstile, Balance & Composure, Bane, Converge), and is the first full-length Angel Du$t release to feature drummer Nick Lewis and guitarist Jim Carroll (American Nightmare, the Hope Conspiracy).
The record also sports guest spots from Scott Vogel (Terror), Wes Eisold (American Nightmare, Cold Cave), Patrick Cozens (Restraining Order) Frank Carter, and Taylor Young (Twitching Tongues, Deadbody).
As with other Angel Du$t projects, Cold 2 the Touch — which features recent songs “The Beat” and “The Knife” — is said to specialize in a multi-genre approach that encompasses both “flat-out ferocious” tunes and big hooks.
“This is who I am,” Tripp said in a statement, alluding to Angel Du$t’s general aesthetic, “And I speak for the band too: these are people who are always going to be playing aggressive rock & roll. It’s happening whether you like it or not. I’m me, and if you get in my way, I’m gonna crush you.”
