Here at Revolver, we’re always on the hunt for new songs to bang our heads to — indeed, it’s a big part of our jobs. With that in mind, here are the tracks released this week in hardcore, deathcore, nu-metal and more that have been on heavy rotation at Revolver HQ.

Grommet – “Protected Names”
“Fuck your crown, we won’t bow down.”
Hardest nu-metal riff of 2026? That’s what Swedish bruise crew Grommet not-so-humbly suggested of the hypnotic low-bend toughness driving their furiously grooved new single, “Protected Names,” and we’re pretty sold on its bull-in-a-china-shop bluntness.
Grommet kick ass and take names while injecting Deftones vibes and roiling class-war rage into a beatdown on the elites (“Private jets and private sins”).
Kill Chain – “Never Been Yours”
We’re shouting our love for Kill Chain all the way up into the mountaintops.
Comprising members of Comeback Kid, A Mourning Star, Bayonet Dismemberment and more, the Canadian quintet planted the flag with a pummeling debut song full of Nineties-nostalgic mosh riffs and urgent vocals from CBK’s Andrew Neufeld. Exquisitely crushed, to say the least.
Their three-song demo drops in full next week, and we’re pumped.
Loathe – “Revenant”
Well, hello there, stranger.
Loathe lashed out with a vicious formal intro to their now-impending fourth album, A Stranger to You. And, damn… the metalcore expanders do not let up. There’s a micro-glaze of cooling keys bookending the piece — a synth sandwich, if you will — but otherwise Loathe (and Code Orange offshoot NOWHERE2RUN, who feature on the track) grind the world to dust with progressively-twisted, piston-pumping aggression, and scar-you-to-your-soul consternations from an all-pissed Kadeem France.
We’re twisting his words, but no fakin’: It’s clear that the sick have never been sicker.
Northlane – “Evian”
Northlane dip their toes into Nineties house-pop waters within the first minute of “Evian,” which drinks deep on glow-stick synth tones and star-searchin’ vocal performances.
The Aussie metal vets don’t keep their heavy tendencies bottled up for too long, though — the group eventually erupt into a juggernaut run of staccato noise-djenting before swirling the two sounds together.
It’s produced by former Bring Me the Horizon member Jordan Fish, and sounds just as huge as anything else he’s touched in recent times.
Sevendust – “The Drop”
Like a honey glaze across your eardrums, few vocalists remain as unendingly smooth as Sevendust’s golden-throated Lajon Witherspoon.
He’s consistently dropping God-tier melodics above the nu-brawny hooks on the ‘Dust’s ONE album — their 15th overall — but we really feel his energy on “The Drop,” in particular.
That the rest of the group creep and crawl with impressively subsonic swagger makes it tasty, too.
Torn Open – “DENIAL (AND SO IT BEGINS)”
Somewhat weirdly, “DENIAL (AND SO IT BEGINS)” isn’t the opening track on rising deathcore destructionists Torn Open’s new TORN THE FUCK OPEN VOL. 2 EP. For that matter, their recent “THE WAY THINGS SHOULD END” — which stunned the Revolver staff a few weeks back — isn’t the finale on the four-song outing, either.
Despite the anachronisms, here’s what we can’t deny: The Garden State quintet are once again going absolutely ballistic, and their brutality is a thing of beauty.
Dummy-mode jud-outs, sinister arpeggiation, blast-fracked freakiness and animalistic tunnel vocals that sound like they’re being portaled out of hell’s busiest slaughterhouse — this one’ll keep you on your toes.
