Here at Revolver, we’re always on the hunt for new songs to bang our heads to — indeed, it’s a big part of our jobs. With that in mind, here are the tracks released this week in deathcore, crossover thrash, noise-rock and more that have been on heavy rotation at Revolver HQ.

Fugitive – “Spheres of Virulence”
Texan crossover-thrash supergroup Fugitive are back, and it’s about damn time.
The group’s first single in close to two years is a mighty, mid-tempo whip-cracker that surges with an urgency akin to ‘Tallica at their hungriest, the fierce and festering nature of early Obituary and the crossover heft of founding guitarist Blake Ibanez’s other band, Power Trip.
Though there’s a doomsday-anticipating vibe to vocalist Seth Gilmore’s lyrics about “suffocating skies,” we can’t help but wonder whether his cries over “calloused hands” are also a little in-joke about how hard Ibanez is ripping it on his guitar.
INCITE – “Dolores”
On “Dolores,” Incite vocalist Richie Cavalera (son of the mighty Max) suggests that he and the rest of the band have been caught off-guard by a “consuming mysterious melody,” presumably the one they’ve integrated into their haunting new gothic-horror single. Likewise, a ghostly presence with a “sweet deadly scent” has been stalking them night after night.
This is all to say, there’s an uncanny yet captivating feel to this phantasmagoric and slow-rolling crusher. And like Abigail before her, Dolores could be haunting metalheads for years to come.
Inhuman Condition – “Face for Later”
Break out your fat boards, slap on some headphones and get ready to ride your nearest pool, for Inhuman Condition have a new skateboarding anthem for you.
The Floridian death-metal die-hards — comprising members of Obituary, Deicide, Massacre and more — recently copped to having been brought up in the skate community, which explains why the music video for “Face for Later” was shot in a drained pool with a bunch of deck riders pulling off tricks around the group.
We can’t decide which brings the heat more: the searing, bar-bending guitar solo or the sight of one pool-shredder carving it up through a legitimate lake of fire.
Jehnny Beth – “Broken Rib”
French provocateur Jehnny Beth just announced her second solo album since putting post-punk project Savages on a hiatus back in 2017. With You Heartbreaker You’s first single, “Broken Rib,” her “inner revolt” is now puncturing the airspace with dramatic quavering, frightful screams, dangerously noise-wriggling guitar bends and an engagingly brick-batted industrial pulse.
It’s a daring preview from the upcoming full-length, and we’re bracing ourselves for more skeleton-shattering singles.
Lorna Shore – “Oblivion”
“What have we done?”
That’s the refrain Will Ramos is pig-retching throughout his band’s epic new deathcore insta-classic, “Oblivion.” It’s the kind of dread-dripping line that comes across self-conscious on a meta-level, but let it be known: Lorna Shore deliver with the first taste of their forthcoming I Feel the Everblack Festering Within Me.
Vicious, tectonic plate-shifting blasts. Destructively dialed-in guitar fracking. Ramos giving it all with his ginormous gutturals. Even without the subliminal prodding of its post-apocalyptic and outright heart-wrenching music video, it’s the kind of song that makes us want to eat beans and barf blood all day.
PRESIDENT – “In the Name of the Father”
After months of cryptic teasing, the official arrival of undercover metal project PRESIDENT has left us with more questions than answers.
For starters: Who’s rocking that waxy mask whilst crooning-and-screaming himself raw? Can this actually be a Sleep Token-adjacent side project, or an experimental new direction for another rumored UK artist?
Then again, once the subsonic breakdown hits in this otherwise pop&B-glazed introduction, we’re realizing we like the mystery. Lets hold off on the details a bit longer. Like the Prez suggests, we’re all suckers for a fantasy.
