Released shortly after Black Flag’s initial break-up in 1986, Wasted…Again compiles some of the California hardcore innovators’ most raging songs. Though it includes iconically campy pop-culture callout “TV Party,” it likewise explodes through nihilistic pipe-bombs like “Six Pack,” “Drinking and Driving” and “Jealous Again.” Flag’s near-constant lineup fluctuations are reflected in the fact that no less than four frontmen spew venom on here, including the early-days beach-bum sneering of Keith Morris, the jagged-glass gargle of the Dez Cadena period, and up into the psychologically-damaged brawn of Henry Rollins’ tenure.
