Sun Dont Shine — the sludge supergroup made up of members of Crowbar, Down, Type O Negative and more — have announced that a full-length album is on the way in 2026. While the details have yet to arrive in full, they’re previewing the upcoming Birth to Death with a meditative and gloomy new single called “In the End.”
The song finds the band — Kenny Hickey (Type O Negative, Silvertomb), Kirk Windstein (Crowbar, Down), Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Silvertomb), and Todd Strange (Crowbar, Down) — exploring psychedelically down-trodden melodies and moody lines reflecting mortality and our inevitable ends.
“‘In The End’ is a great example of what we want Sun Dont Shine to sound like,” guitarist Windstein said in a statement. “It’s got dynamics, melody and a bit of heaviness to it.”
“‘In the End’ was one of those melodies that stayed with me from the moment it was written,” Corpse Paint Records’ Andrew Spaulding added. “I found myself humming it constantly. It carried a different weight—slower, more reflective—but the lyrics cut deep in a way that immediately made me think about the people we’ve lost along the way. For us, that includes giants who shaped this band’s very DNA: Peter Steele, Dimebag Darrell, and most recently, Ace Frehley.”

Details on what all will be included on Birth to Death have yet to be revealed, though it’s expected to land via Corpse Paint Records sometime in 2026. In the meantime, a pre-order bundle for a CD copy of “In the End,” keychains and more can be found over here.
The band had previously issued their four-song Coming Down EP in the summer.
