Hear noise-rock supergroup COLD WIVES’ new “Foreign Matters”

Cold Wives are an Austin, Texas-based noise-rock supergroup made up of ear-splitting veterans from Unsane, Made Out of Babies, Red Sparowes and more. Ahead of delivering their full-length self-titled debut at the end of the month, the project just hammered out a jarring preview called “Foreign Matters.”

Following the immediately creep-grooved cacophony of first single “Unwashed and Misunderstood,” the new single drones into an ungodly peal of distortion. “Foreign Matters” then works into a brief burst of techy jazz-metal fuckery, before leaning into a Nineties-style, herky-jerky AmRep groove. You can check out Cold Wives’ circus of chaos up above.

As for the album, it drops June 28th via Roman Numeral Records. The collection is said to find “immaculate musicianship highlighting the coarse and vile nature not only found on the album, but the surrounding world, as well.”

While a limited-edition pressing of the record on “CHROMA-Wax Mage” vinyl is already sold-out, you can pre-order Cold Wives on clear orange vinyl here.
