Sumac — the alchemical meeting of Aaron Turner (ISIS, Old Man Gloom, Mamiffer), Nick Yacyshyn (Baptists, Erosion) and Brian Cook (Russian Circles) — took over The Underworld in Camden, U.K., on March 19th in support of their crushing and experimental 2018 album Love in Shadow. Like-minded avant-bashers Baptists and Endon opened the gig, but all eyes were on the headliners, who brought their expansive, improvisational post-metal to life in front of the transfixed crowd.
