Hurricane Helene may have stopped Slayer from playing Louder Than Life this year, but it’s now officially been confirmed that the classic thrashers will be heading to Louisville, Kentucky to headline the 11th edition of the heavy music festival in 2025.
A press release confirms that Slayer will indeed be hitting the Highland Festival Grounds at Kentucky Exposition Center for the next edition of Louder Than Life, which will take place September 18-21st, 2025. Despite having been forced to delay this year’s reunion appearance due to the extreme weather last month, festival bookers are beyond stoked to be able to host Slayer again.
“We can’t wait to welcome fans back to finish what we started this year and celebrate the return of Slayer,” Danny Wimmer of Danny Wimmer Presents said in a statement. “Our team is hard at work finalizing an incredible lineup that we can’t wait to reveal this winter. It’s going to be epic, and we can’t wait to see everyone back in Louisville next September.”
At the moment, Slayer are the only band confirmed for next year’s fest. Early bird passes are set to go on sale in November, and you can sign up to gain first access to the passes over on the Louder Than Life site.
Additionally, the promoters have revealed refund info for audience members who were affected by the weather cancelation on September 27th.
Single-day passholders can receive either a full refund or have credit applied to the purchase of a 2025 pass. Weekend passholders are entitled to a 25 per cent refund of their 2024 pass price, or likewise transfer credit towards the purchase of a pass in 2025.
