Earlier this year, we learned that Slayer would be headlining this year’s installment of Riot Fest. Now, the long-running Illinois-area fest have officially announced that this fall’s punk-and-metal extravaganza will also feature performances from heavy hitters including Rob Zombie, Lamb of God, Mastodon and more.
The formal announcement arrived this morning (June 12th), with organizers confirming that the 2024 edition will take place September 20-22. This time around, they’ve moved the event from Chicago’s Douglass Park into their new home at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois.
The previously announced Slayer set closes out the whole festival on September 22nd, while other heavy veteran acts hitting stages throughout the weekend include Rob Zombie, Lamb of God, Mastodon (who will be playing Leviathan in full), Suicidal Tendencies, Clutch, the Offspring, HEALTH and GWAR.
The weekend will also feature sets from punk, hardcore and heavy bands including GEL, Sunami, Drug Church, Nekrogoblikon, Poison the Well, the Chisel, Fiddlehead and more.
Under the guise of “RiotLand,” the stadium grounds will be split into a series of stages, including one that NOFX will headline each night as part of their farewell tour. That particularly punky stage will also feature sets from Descendents, Circle Jerks, Pennywise, Buzzcocks, Face to Face, All, Lagwagon, the Vandals and others.
Marquee artists from the indie-rock, pop and rap worlds include Beck, Pavement, Fall Out Boy, St. Vincent, Sublime, Public Enemy and Bright Eyes.
