Over the weekend, Trivium battered UK metalheads at Bloodstock Open Air with a monstrously bonkers and star-studded set that featured guest spots from members of Sleep Token, Machine Head, Emperor and more.
The Friday night (August 8th) appearance at Derbyshire, UK’s Catton Park found Trivium hitting a bunch of songs from classic album Ascendancy, and also marked the debut performance of the band’s new “Bury Me with My Screams” single, from their forthcoming Struck Dead EP.
The night also found the outfit paying tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne by performing Black Sabbath’s “System of the Universe,” and they did this with the help of Machine Head’s Robb Flynn, who hopped on stage to deliver guest vocals. Cover-wise, Trivium also ripped into a commanding version of Metallica’s “Master Of Puppets,” which they hadn’t hit since 2008 (per setlist.fm)
Throughout the epic set, Trivium were also joined by Sleep Token’s III on Shogun’s “Throes of Perdition,” Emperor’s Ihsahn hopped onto the Bloodstock performance “In Waves,” and Malevolence guitarist Josh Baines helped the act run through Ascendancy’s “The Deceived.”
You’ll find footage from Trivium’s big-time Bloodstock appearance up above and down below.
As previously reported, the act launch their “Ascend Above the Ashes” North American tour with Jinjer on Halloween (October 31st), which also happens to be the day they release their Struck Dead EP, via Roadrunner Records. Pre-orders for the release are up over here.
