Along with the announcement that they will be headlining a European tour in early 2019 with Uada and Gaahls Wyrd, Swedish blackened death rockers Tribulation have released a new video for the “Unbound,” taken from their most recent full length Down Below. The announcement and video coincide with tonight’s North American tour kickoff in Chicago; the band will join Pallbearer for a month-long run of co-headlining dates.
The clip follows a shadowy horseman riding a serpentine path through the forest at night. Dimly lit through the canopy of trees, the pair eventually come upon a river, and the mysterious equestrian loads various ritualistic items into a small boat before paddling out into the water, and the sun sets. A collage of dusky images follows, including an underwater demonic figure, a man walking through the tall grass by the river, and a burned-out section of the woods. The resulting effect is an eerie collage of loosely connected vignettes conveying the ghostly atmosphere of the song.
