Papa Roach just came off the road from the first leg of their “Rise of the Roach,” and the nu-rock veterans won’t hit stages again until the summer. To keep you fans sated, however, a stripped-down acoustic live performance from earlier in the year has now popped up online in full.
The group’s unplugged on-air appearance for Detroit, Michigan’s 101 WRIF radio station took place on February 28th, but was uploaded in video form onto YouTube yesterday (April 23rd).
The “Riff Session” set found a tea-sipping Jacoby Shaddix and his bandmates leaning into anything from their latest peoples-uniting anthem, “Even if it Kills Me,” to 2005’s “Scars” to a spirited finale of mega-hit “Last Resort,” upon which Shaddix leaned into an endearingly and intentionally goofball metal yell.
Between songs, Shaddix also discusses collaborating with Carrie Underwood, sobriety, suicide awareness and more. You’ll find the full performance from WRIF’s Riff Lounge up above.
As previously reported, Papa Roach resume their “Rise of the Roach” tour alongside Rise Against in September, though Shaddix and Co. have some Canadian and European fest dates lined up through the summer, too.
