After unsheathing their anthemic “Darkness Always Wins” earlier in the spring, hard rockers Halestorm have now delivered a fantastically sword-swinging music video to accompany their high-flying Everest single.
Guitarist-vocalist Lzzy Hale had previously described “Darkness Always Wins” as “neither a song of hope nor… a song of despair,” but rather a battle anthem about endurance and keeping “our fires burning.”
Fittingly, the new music video finds the Halestorm leader chainmailed-up and hoisting a huge medieval sword. Whilst wandering what looks like the Neverending Story’s Swamps of Sadness, the warrior encounters a mud-encrusted enemy, and then they begin a blade-chinking duel.
Throughout, we also see Hale hammering away at a piano as she sings the rock anthem, while the rest of the group crush solos and ram into drum fills on the boggy, foggy landscape, too.

As previously reported, Halestorm’s Everest is out August 8th via Atlantic Records. Copies of the album on CD and hot pink vinyl are currently up for pre-order in Revolver‘s shop.
Halestorm are likewise gearing up for a round of North American arena dates supporting Volbeat before launching their own headline run in September.
