Coming off their recent reunion announcement and world tour kickoff, the new Linkin Park lineup made their television debut last night (September 17th) while performing their pop-punky FROM ZERO single “The Emptiness Machine” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The talk-show appearance found the band dipping into their new number from a foggy, strobe-light-blaring stage setup. Vocalist-guitarist Mike Shinoda handled the first verse and chorus, after which new singer Emily Armstrong popped on screen to sing and scream her way through the rest of the song, alongside Shinoda. The band’s current lineup is rounded out by founding members Dave Farrell and Joe Hahn, as well as recently instated drummer Colin Brittain and live guitarist Alex Feder.
You’ll find the quick and punchy TV performance up above, while down below you’ll find an interview segment between Fallon and Shinoda, in which the Linkin Park member discusses the reunion, unsuccessfully trying to give his daughter pointers on how to play guitar, and how early Aughts nu-metal fashion is, well, back in fashion.
As previously reported, Linkin Park’s forthcoming FROM ZERO album is out November 15th via Warner Records. The band’s world tour, meanwhile, resumes next week for a September 22nd performance at Hamburg, Germany’s Barclays Arena. You’ll find the rest of the tour info here.
