We doubt you’ve ever had the kind of days the O’Keefe Foundation are having. Following their earlier covers of Slipknot, Korn, Pantera and more, the metal-loving kids and teens are now revving up their chainsaws for a G-rated but still pretty riotous take on Limp Bizkit’s eternally bratty “Break Stuff.”
A new music video for the cover takes place at a birthday party, where the band’s 11-year-old vocalist Zoë Franziska starts brag-rappin’ like a lil Fred Durst about how everything sucks.
Franziska remodels the nu-metal anthem with some family-friendly lines all about that “he said/she said guilt trip”. Damn right, she’s a maniac, but she’s also looking for something to bake (chiefly, a chocolate cake). If she doesn’t get her way, she’ll break your frickin’ face tonight.
The band mostly play the arrangement straight, but big ups to Brackston Applegate for adding a pingy but percussive edge to the piece with his beer keg and baseball bat.
The rest of the video also finds someone circling the pit with a chainsaw and the birthday girl torchin’ up her living room with a brand-new flamethrower, while the party also spills out onto the street, where kids start throwing cinderblocks through car sunroofs.
They’re getting dangerous, but don’t worry – the set had a “chainsaw supervisor” and a fire safety coordinator on-hand to make sure to the kids didn’t go full Lord of the Flies on their neighborhood
