See Insane Photos of Dillinger Escape Plan’s Final Three Shows

On December 27th, 28th and 29th at New York’s Terminal 5, Dillinger Escape Plan played their final three shows, which more than lived up to the band’s reputation as one of the most high-energy and high-risk live acts to ever smash a party. There was stage-diving, balcony-diving and bloodshed, as well as cameos from like-minded musical troublemaker Mike Patton, original singer Dimitri Minakakis and erstwhile guitarist Brian Benoit, a young School of Rock singer and fan named Sheridan, and a surprise string quartet. The audience was made up of diehards who traveled to NYC from around the world to attend the farewell concerts, which had the intense, emotional vibe of a long overdue and possibly never-to-be-repeated family reunion — that is, if your family likes spazzing out to chaotic post-hardcore and crowdsurfing all over each other’s sweaty bodies. Stephen Odom, who shot the photographs in Revolver’s Dillinger Escape Plan cover story — on newsstands now — was there to catch the action.
