While hype around the ultra-violent Terrifier 3 is whipping gore-freaks into a vomitous frenzy at the moment, it must be noted that music fans are likewise dying to hear the soundtrack’s tie-in song from horror-obsessed metalcore die-hards Ice Nine Kills. But before the band officially deliver their “A Work of Art” single to streamers later this week, they’re previewing their next horror hit with a scary teaser trailer.
As you can see in the minute-long preview, the “A Work of Art” video takes place at an Ice Nine Kills concert where all hell apparently breaks loose mid-performance. We see gory glimpses of people swinging weapons in the pit as INK smash into the song, while Terrifier‘s Art the Clown shows up with some sharpened blades of his own for an apparent birthing scene.
The madness follows some famous last words between a couple’s argument on whether or not to go inside: “It’s an Ice Nine Kills concert…what are they going to do, hack you up into little pieces?”
As previously reported, INK leader Spencer Charnas announced “A Work of Art” last month during the third annual Silver Scream Con in Worcester, Massachusetts. There, he explained that the track would be referencing the sadistic tendencies of Terrifier‘s main baddie, while a music video directed by longtime collaborator Jensen Noen would co-star David Howard Thornton, (a.k.a. Art the Clown), System of a Down/Seven Hours After Violet bassist Shavo Odadjian, Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), Leah Voysey (Terrifier 2), Sirius XM’s Jose Mangin and Vincent Rockwell, and more.
“We are beyond honored by the invitation to play within the viciously delightful universe [Terrifier writer/director] Damien Leone and his incredible team have created,” Charnas said at the time. “The Art and INK fanbases are one and the same, and we heard the screams for this collaboration loud and clear.”
While both Terrifier 3 and “A Work of Art” premiered at last month’s Fantastic Fest in Texas, they’ll next be screened at select theaters on Thursday (October 10th). Ice Nine Kills’ “A Work of Art” then begins streaming to the general public the following day, just as Leone’s latest work receives its wider theatrical release.
