Ice Nine Kills have a thing for killer clowns.
After having teamed-up with mean-spirited Terrifier mime Art the Clown for last fall’s “A Work of Art” single, the horror-metal favorites have revealed they’re about to salute the Clown Prince of Crime with a Joker-fied new cut called “The Laugh Track.” Though the song drops later this week, INK have issued a gag reel in advance.
The song, which follows INK’s recent Matrix-themed “The Great Unknown”, will apparently be taking inspiration from Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, and specifically Jack Nicholson’s take on the Joker. We’re piecing this together by the way the trailer finds actor Terry Kiser (Weekend at Bernie’s) re-assuming his Jimmy Fling role to suggest INK mock-up a metal cut based upon the script on that superhero property.
Fittingly enough, we also get a sneak preview of all-smiles INK leader Spencer Charnas dolled-up in purple-and-green while leading a dangerous downtown parade, with Molotov cocktails flying full-tilt.
The video is also set to feature a cameo from Scream/Scooby-Doo actor Matthew Lillard, and the story-within-a-story bent to INK’s series of music videos suggests one of the band’s guitarists will get the axe by the end of the clip.
We’re expecting plenty of yuks and yucks once the video drops in full, but you can take an early peep on the laugh-daffy lunacy up above.
“The Laugh Track” is also set to hit streamers this Friday (October 9th) via Fearless Records.
