See Higher Power Nod to Limp Bizkit With Fun New “Rewire (101)” Video

Higher Power‘s punchy, exuberant 27 Miles Underwater is one of the best albums of the 2020 so far, hands down, and one of the finest albums from a young up-and-coming band in recent memory. It’s a damn shame that the U.K. melodic hardcore crew haven’t had the chance to properly support the LP on the road and onstage due the COVID-19 pandemic’s shutdown of the live music circuit. With their new music video, for album standout “Rewire (101),” Higher Power cast a nostalgic eye on the madness and mayhem of their last tour before quarantine. The clip is also a further throwback to the kinds of videos that inspired singer Jimmy Wizard and his cohorts to form a band in the first place.

“It’s the kind of video that reminds me of why I love being in a band and touring,” Wizard told The Fader, which premiered the clip today. “It’s also the kind of video that would have inspired me to start a band when I was a kid, like the Limp Bizkit ‘Faith’ video, but sadly without the breakdancing.” Watch — and flash back to a simpler, more innocent time — above.
