Here’s something to stoke your lizard brains: goofball gorehounds GWAR have announced a new multi-media project reintroducing their long-lost dinosaur character, Gor-Gor. An EP of new music will arrive alongside a comic book, though they’re previewing this all in advance via a truly gut-wrenching and supremely NSFW video for the record’s “Lot Lizard.”
The new tune is a double-time punk-metal assault steered by mega wah-blown guitar leads, thrash-maximizing beats and lyrics about how Gor-Gor, the three ton lizard introduced into GWAR lore several decades ago, has become — literally and colloquially — the titular “Lot Lizard”
“What could be more charming than a song about a crack-addicted cross-dressing dinosaur prostitute that shreds weiners at truck stop pickle parks? Nuttin honey. That’s what,” GWAR vocalist Blothar explained of the song in a statement, with it being added that the upcoming The Return of Gor-Gor is themed around Gor-Gor’s character arc.
“The last time I saw Gor Gor he was just a wee fart dragon,” Blothar continues. “He had crawled on the hood of my Kia Soul and was holding on for dear life while I drove to the store to buy Clamato. I bathed him in wiper fluid and used my wipers to knock him off my sweet ride. Next thing I know, he’s a 20-foot tall trans-species prostitute working a pickle park. Apparently, he’s all grown up and looking for revenge. This record chronicles his struggles as a young Dino-American trying to make his way in a cruel world.”
A video for “Lot Lizard” is likewise full of truck cab dalliances, hot dog innuendo and bathroom bloodshed. Be warned, to say the least, but you can give the NSFW video a look down below.
The Return of Gor-Gor arrives July 25th through Pit Records/Z2 Comics. The EP three new songs and a handful of live tracks recorded in 2024 at The Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia. The comic book is a 32-page epic detailing Gor-Gor’s latest adventure.
You can pre-order a semi-transparent purple vinyl edition of the EP, which comes with the comic, in Revolver’s shop.
As previously reported, GWAR are hitting the road with Static-X this spring, and the trip kicks off May 23rd in Tucson, Arizona. You’ll find more date details here.
