Evanescence’s Amy Lee reunited onstage with “Bring Me to Life” co-vocalist Paul McCoy on Sunday night (September 21st), with the pair once again duetting the nu-rock outfit’s iconic debut single for the final song of their Louder Than Life set.
As previously reported, the main stage performance from Louisville, Kentucky’s Highland Festival Grounds was being livestreamed for free via Veeps, and the night also showcased a broad range of Evanescence classics — from early Fallen tracks (“Going Under”) to their The Open Door era (“Call Me When You’re Sober”) and up into the band’s slate of 2025 singles ( “Afterlife” and “Fight Like a Girl”).
Lee began set-closer “Bring Me to Life” playing piano, but walked away from the instrument after the intro to focus on her vocals. Bassist Emma Anzai hit the harmonies, initially, but then during the mid-song breakdown, Lee invited her old singing partner on-stage: “C’mon Paul, are you going to help me out with this, or what?”
The pair then slid back into the familiar dynamic, something they hadn’t done in nearly a decade, and then Lee shouted-out her guest star: “The real McCoy, ladies and gentleman.”
