Sepultura played their final U.S. show on Friday night (May 29th), and they brought the “Kaiowas” with a bigtime guest percussionist: Foo Fighters leader Dave Grohl.
The team-up took place mid-way through the band’s 19-song set at Los Angeles, California’s Wiltern Theatre. Throughout the Chaos A.D. classic, Grohl rumbled sticks across a floor tom as vocalist Derrick Green manned his own beat on another drum. Eventually, a number of other folks join them on stage to start hittin’ those drum skins.

Grohl had taken place in an onstage Sepultura drumline in the past, having brought the beat to an all-star “Roots, Bloody Roots” at Dimebash 2020 — other guest musicians on-stage having included Dethklok’s Gene Hoglan, Haunted guitarist Ola Englund and more..
Friday night’s show took place as the North American tour-capper of Sepultura’s “Celebrating Life Through Death” farewell tour. Tourmate Evan Seinfeld of Biohazard also hopped onstage to help out on “Slave New World.”
As previously reported, Sepultura have recently announced that their final performance will take place November 7th at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu in São Paulo, Brazil. The night will also feature Metal Allegiance — the supergroup featuring Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy, Testament’s Chuck Billy and Alex Skolnik, Mastodon’s Troy Sanders and more — as well as Brazilian death-metal group Krisiun and thrash vets Sacred Reich.
