See AVENGED SEVENFOLD’s debut music video as STATICA

Avenged Sevenfold are fully embracing their STATICA era, having just unveiled a new music video as their auto-tuned alter ego.

Last week, Avenged Sevenfold surprised fans by dropping their STATICA EP, a four-song, funk-forward outing that found vocalist M. Shadows adopting a trippy, perma-auto-tuned flow. While it was released to streamers as an A7X project, the group then performed the EP in full under the name STATICA during their recent tour-launch with Good Charlotte — this was done from the backstage area and broadcast to the crowd in attendance.

Today (July 31st), the Cali quintet released a music video for the EP’s title track, and they’ve done so using the STATICA moniker. As a reminder, the song cracks skulls with neon dayglow bass fuzz, retro-futuristic synths and that auto-tuned croon.

As for the video, it finds Shadows ripping around streets at night in an old T-bird. Zacky Vengeance cruises into a convenience store to pick up no-name beer, seemingly piloted out of Repo Man. A mohawked Johnny Christ gets intrigued by a laundromat vending machine dispensing Monopoly money.

Like the music, it’s all a bit surreal and psychedelic — watch STATICA’s debut video for yourself, streaming up above.

As previously reported, Avenged Sevenfold (and STATICA) are currently out on tour with Good Charlotte. The next show takes place tomorrow (August 1st) at St. Louis, Missouri’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheater. You’ll find the rest of the tour details here.
