Les Claypool is going triple-threat mode this summer, with the ambitiously freak-funking bass icon having just announced a joint tour between Primus, the Claypool Lennon Delirium and his Fearless Flying Frog Brigade.
The trek will be mounted under the banner of “Claypool Gold,” and the shows will feature an interwoven set featuring all three projects, with press materials promising “one mind-melting musical experience.” It’s added that each night will showcase “wildly different setlists and surprises.”
If the format sound familiar, you’re not alone — “Claypool Gold” seems to be inspired by the past couple years of Sessanta dates that Primus undertook with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. Those tours found those three bands rotating through mini-sets and at times amalgamating for large-form on-stage collaborations.
The 25-show Claypool extravaganza kicks off May 20th at the Reno Events Center in Nevada, and will boomerang between both coasts before coming to a close July 4th at Napa, California’s Meritage Resort and Spa.

To further celebrate the tour announcement, the Claypool Lennon Delirium have surfed a psychedelic jam-out titled “WAP (What a Predicament)” our way.
Described as a “warped meditation on morality, artificial intelligence safety and the slippery slope of optimization without empathy,” you can sample the electric bubblegum mind-expander via the wave-riding visualizer up above. The project’s last full-length was 2019’s South of Reality.
