Hard to believe, but Poison the Well issued their landmark debut album, The Opposite of December… A Season of Separation, 25 years ago this month. To celebrate that heavy music milestone, the Floridian metalcore greats have announced they’ll be heading out on an anniversary tour next spring.
Poison the Well confirmed today (December 3rd) that their next tour will have them playing their 1999 classic in full each night. The 17-show tour begins April 4th at Los Angeles, California’s Palladium venue, and concludes April 29th at Toronto, Ontario’s Danforth Music Hall.
Joining the band throughout will be classic Long Island, New York post-hardcore band Glassjaw — who themselves just announced an upcoming demos collection — contemporary heavy supergroup Better Lovers and veteran L.A. rockers Teenage Wrist.
“For me, The Opposite of December… represents everything I absorbed as a teenager: the shows, the music, the raw energy of hardcore and punk. I never imagined that record would still resonate 25 years later. Seeing people continue to connect with it inspires me every day, and I’m so grateful for the opportunities this band has given me,” Poison the Well singer Jeff Moreira explained in a statement, adding that the trip is “about honoring The Opposite of December… and the listeners who’ve supported us through the years.”
