It’s hard to imagine the death metal landscape shaping up the way it did without the festering influence of Obituary’s landmark sophomore LP, Cause of Death. If you needed a reminder, though, the Sunshine State legends will be touring their 1990 classic this spring on an epic anniversary tour alongside Nails, Terror and more.
Obituary’s traveling post mortem was announced by the band today (January 22nd), confirming across socials that they’ll be mounting a 28-date trip in the spring. Joining them throughout will be powerviolence powerhouses Nails, hardcore icons Terror, rhinestoned western death-metal crew SpiritWorld and UK hardcore outfit Pest Control.
The trek kicks off April 18th at San Antonio, Texas’ Aztec Theatre, runs through a good chunk of the U.S., adds a pair of Canadian dates, and ultimately concludes May 25th at Reading, Pennsylvania’s Reverb venue.

While Obituary last left listeners with 2023 full-length Dying of Everything, they recorded their Cause of Death – Live Infection livestream LP in 2020.
When it comes to the openers, Nails issued their Every Bridge Burning record, their first in eight years, last fall. Terror’s last album was 2022’s Pain Into Power, while SpiritWorld will unleash Helldorado February 21st via Century Media. Pest Control delivered their Year of the Pest EP late last year, with the title track being a favorite around the Revolver offices.
