Neurosis are back.
The revered post-metal titans have returned to announce their first show in seven years and surprise-release their first new album in a decade. The LP is titled An Undying Love for a Burning World and it features the group’s new member Aaron Turner, formerly of leading Neurosis disciples ISIS. “From the moment I first heard Neurosis over 30 years ago, I felt this was the music my heart and mind had been seeking but not yet heard,” Turner commented. “Now after many years traveling along various musical paths of my own, the singular sound and spirit embodied by Neurosis continues to speak to the depths of my being. It is an honor and a true pleasure to have been welcomed so warmly into a band that not only shaped my perspective on the limitless possibilities of music — but has lived and exemplified the necessity of upholding creative integrity and camaraderie above all else.”
Turner will join his new bandmates at Neurosis’ kickoff reunion show, which set for this year’s Fire in the Mountains festival. Presented by the Firekeeper Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing suicide in Indigenous communities, the group’s long-awaited appearance will take place on the sacred lands of the Blackfeet Nation.
“I cannot think of a more appropriate environment for us to return to the stage,” Neurosis’ Steve Von Till, who played the event as a solo artist in 2025, said of the band’s reunion show. “Last year’s Fire in the Mountains festival was the most profound music event I have ever been a part of. The weekend took on a healing, cathartic ceremonial nature that is difficult to put into words. Using emotionally heavy music to build community and collectively stare darkness in the eye is something we have always believed in, but using it to directly address the heartbreaking reality of suicide, grief, loss and trauma is taking it to another level.”
Fire in the Mountains 2026 is scheduled for July 23rd-26th at Red Eagle Campground in East Glacier, Montana. Other bands set to perform include Baroness, Enslaved, Borknagar, YOB, Agalloch and Full of Hell. Tickets are available here.
