Tonight (August 2nd), Marilyn Manson returned to the stage for the first time since before the pandemic, performing a mix of old and newer songs during the opening night of Five Finger Death Punch’s summer arena tour.
The set took place at Hershey, Pennsylvania’s Hersheypark Stadium, and marked Manson’s first live appearance since he performed two songs at the Heaven Is Rock & Roll Gala at the Hollywood Palladium in January of 2020. It likewise marked the shock rocker’s first proper show since he wrapped a headlining run in the fall 2019 ahead of his last album, 2020’s We Are Chaos.
Manson’s Hershey set took place after an opening spot from deathcore group Slaughter to Prevail. For his part, Manson — looking trim and energetic — performed songs pulled from across his career, including hits like Antichrist Superstar‘s “The Beautiful People” and Mechanical Animals’ “The Dope Show,” though he notably did not play his latest single, the just-released “As Sick as the Secrets Within.”
His newly unveiled live band notably includes Code Orange’s Reba Meyers on guitar and Piggy D (ex-Rob Zombie) on bass, as well as returning recent members Tyler Bates and Gil Sharone (ex-Dillinger Escape Plan), on guitar and drums, respectively.

Manson is currently attempting a comeback after being accused by numerous women of sexual abuse in early 2021, including Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood. Manson has publicly denied the allegations made against him, but has since been embroiled in a series of court battles, most of which have either been settled or dismissed.
Manson will splinter off from the Five Finger Death Punch tour to perform a headlining show Saturday night (August 3rd) at Silver Spring, Maryland’s Fillmore venue — and has more top-billed shows on the way this summer — but primarily continues touring as 5FDP’s direct support until their show together at Houston, Texas’ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on September 19th.
