Last night (April 23rd), Bay Area groove-metal gøds Machine Head took their massive headlining North American tour — boasting the stacked lineup of In Flames, Lacuna Coil and Unearth — to New York City, specifically the majestic Brooklyn Paramount venue.
The bands had heralded the trek with the “Wu Tang Clan-level thrash collaboration” “These Scars Won’t Define Us,” and while the show didn’t see all the acts jumping onstage together to bash out that song live, it did feature thrilling sets from all the participants. Machine Head, in particular, played a career-spanning 12-song set that included a yet-to-be-released song “ØUTSIDER,” off their imminent new album UNATØNED, as well as fan favorites such as “Ten Ton Hammer,” “Halo,” “Locust” and of course the immortal “Davidian.”
WWE pro wrestler and lifelong metalhead Damian Priest was in attendance, and it was indeed a night worthy of a one-time heavyweight champ. Photographer Dimitry Mak was there, too, and though sadly he didn’t catch Unearth, he did capture Lacuna, In Flames and Machine Head in action. Check out some of his standout shots below.
