Last week, Linkin Park hinted in a tour recap video that they had a new song in the works. Now, the much-beloved nu-metal outfit have confirmed that their first track since the release of last fall’s FROM ZERO comeback LP will be called “Up From the Bottom,” and it arrives by the end of the month.
Linkin Park had initially teased the forthcoming single through their LPTV FROM ZERO series on YouTube, with a recent world tour recap video ending with the sight of co-vocalists Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong hopping in the studio to put some work into a new track.
In the clip, after Armstrong does a little warm-up, Shinoda cues up some music above which his co-vocalist rasps out “Sometimes it feels like.” And then the video abruptly ends.
Now, in a newly-unleashed Instagram post, we get a few more snippets from the song. The full line is apparently “Sometimes it feels like I’ve been barely breathing.” The song itself kind of hits a mid-tempo beat akin to FROM ZERO’s debut single, “The Emptiness Machine.”
The Instagram post, which you can see in full down below, also flips from the studio footage to a slick and cinematic snippet of what looks to be a forthcoming music video, where Shinoda raps “Everybody out, that devil is coming.”
The post likewise confirms that “Up From the Bottom” is due out March 27th.
Linkin Park resume their massive 2025 world tour April 26th at Austin, Texas’ Moody Center, which would give the band their first opportunity to drop “Up From the Bottom” into the setlist.
