Limp Bizkit returned to the stage for the first time since the death of their founding bassist Sam Rivers, kicking off the nu-metal veterans’ Loserville Gringo Papi Tour 2025. The emotionally charged show went down at Estadio Fray Nano in Mexico City and was opened by Slay Squad, Riff Raff, Ecca Vandal, 311 and Bullet for My Valentine. But the night belonged, of course, to the mighty Bizkit.
The group’s surviving members, Fred Durst, Wes Borland, John Otto and DJ Lethal, honored Rivers with a video tribute projected on the big screen, hailing him as “our brother forever” and proclaiming “we love you forever.” They sat watching the moving salute with their backs turned to the crowd and embraced each other at its conclusion.
Bizkit’s cathartic 15-song set (see the full setlist below) opened and closed with “Break Stuff,” and saw Kid Not, a.k.a. Richie Buxton — a songwriting partner and producer of opening artist Vandal — handling bass duties.
“Today is going to be tough. A first I never wanted to experience. Especially not now,” Bizkit drummer John Otto shared in an Instagram post before the concert. “You’ve been there for so many major firsts in my life. Some of my earliest memories were made with you. We grew up together. Laughed together. Realized our dreams together. And traveled the world together. You’ve always been there. The godfather to my girls, my best friend — my brother. There will never be another you.
“We’re going to honor the life you lived and the love you spread with every show we play. You’ll always be with us.
“Thank you to our fans for all the messages of support and tributes to Sam. It means the world to us.
“This one’s for you Sammy.”
