Lamb of God may be getting ready to head out on their 20th anniversary “Ashes of the Leviathan” joint tour with Mastodon this summer, but the Virginia metal vets aren’t resting on those nostalgic laurels for too long, it seems. Today (June 5th), the band started teasing a new whip-cracking single, which is apparently connected to both Kublai Khan TX and Malevolence.
A 32-second-long preview of the tune was just unveiled over socials, with Lamb of God noting, “We cooked up something with a couple friends.” LOG fans will note, however, that the familiarly gun-turreted riffage from Mark Morton and Willie Adler is actually the backbone of Ashes of the Wake b-side “Another Nail for Your Coffin.” It’s as-yet confirmed how Kublai Khan TX and Malevolence are involved, but we’re staying tuned for more details.
As previously reported, LOG will be celebrating 2004’s iconic Ashes of the Wake on a 20th anniversary tour alongside their friends in Mastodon, who themselves are toasting their Moby Dick-inspired Leviathan LP.
