Jesse Draxler: Watch Doc on Acclaimed Artist Behind Chelsea Wolfe, Deafheaven Visuals

Jesse Draxler is an intriguing visual artist known for his visceral, paint-smeared black-and-white collages, who has done work for a host of clients ranging from Valley Eyewear and 3 Floyds Brewery to musicians such as Chelsea Wolfe, Zola Jesus, Deafheaven and the Black Queen, Dillinger Escape Plan singer Greg Puciato’s electronic band. Music plays a deep role in his creative process, helping him to tap into the “feeling” of a project. In the impressionistic short documentary above — produced by NYC’s Convicts — he talks about that process, including how his colorblindness and constant self-doubt play into his work.
