Void Wraith are a black metal band from Seattle who’ve been putting out music since 2014. That’s pretty much all that’s known about the elusive quintet, who don’t have any credits on their Bandcamp page, no member names listed in their Metal-Archives profile and only take photos with blacked-out faces like the utterly kick-ass one above. Their new album, II, is out next month via American Decline Records (Annihilus, Threshing Spirit) and was mixed/mastered by Detto, who’s previously worked on records for Cerebral Rot, Caustic Wound and other extreme-metal releases. Today, we’re stoked to be premiering its latest single titled “VI.”
The hell-foaming scorcher is a nine-minute epic that settles into a hypnotic groove of noisy riffage from the jump and pretty much stays there the whole way through, occasionally breaking into a faster gallop or adding a dollop of twisted lead guitar. Its power comes from its blunt-force, almost psychedelic repetition, each go-around hitting harder and feeling gnarlier than the last. Listen below via Bandcamp.
