California groove-metal outfit Twitching Tongues are gearing up to unleash their fourth album, Gaining Purpose Through Passionate Hatred, next month via Metal Blade Records. After sharing a violent music video for “Harakiri,” the record’s blistering first single, the Los Angeles band has proffered up a second preview of the album with the new track, “Kill For You.” The dramatic, mid-tempo cut plays out more or less as Twitching Tongues’ answer to Red Fang, by way of Metallica’s “One” — following a mournful, slow opening section showcasing their soft side, the band switch into stoner-rock mode, setting their surroundings ablaze with howled vocals and sweeping riffs.
Gaining Purpose Through Passionate Hatred hits shelves March 9th. Pre-order it here. Shortly after the album’s release, Twitching Tongues hit the road for a string of shows with Hatebreed, Crowbar, and Acacia Strain, followed by a headlining tour; find their full itinerary below.
