After announcing the name of their new Everything’s Falling album earlier in the week, hard rocking sister act the Warning have now unveiled its third single, “Ritual.”
The band had previously teased the song through a series of socials posts that found the sisters Villareal (guitarist Dany, drummer Pau and bassist Ale) sporting angel wings, holding ceremonial daggers and surrounded by group of white-robed worshippers.
Now, we see know the full, fantastical context of the video, as well as what “Ritual” actually sounds like. Described in a press release as exploring “the fear of losing something good and the tendency to anticipate disaster even in moments of happiness,” the song vaults from livewire fretboard runs to a deep, percussive, effects-fritzing verse groove and a stomping one-note mid-section mosh.
Lyrically, the Warning are ripping their hair out while anticipating catastrophic events of unknown nature (“I see it coming”).
“‘Ritual’ is about the fear of losing something good,” the sisters say in a statement. “Even when life is going well, anxiety can convince you that disaster is right around the corner. It’s about getting trapped in those thoughts and letting them keep you from actually living in the moment.”
The full details have yet to arrive behind Everything’s Falling, but it’s confirmed to include “Ritual” and previously released singles “Kerosene” and “Ego.” The collection is said to reflect on the growth the Villareals have experienced on and offstage since the release of 2024’s Keep Me Fed.
“At its core, it’s about accepting that life can be messy and unpredictable,” they add. “Things fall apart, plans change, and sometimes you lose your footing. But those moments can teach you the most about yourself, and they’re often what make you stronger in the end.”
Everything’s Falling sees release August 28th through Lava/Republic Records. Colored vinyl and CD copies the band’s fifth full-length are up for pre-order now in Revolver’s shop.
The Warning close their current North American tour with Yungblud tomorrow (June 13th) at Atlanta, Georgia’s Synovus Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park. They have a series of European fest appearances booked through the summer before showing up at Louisville, Kentucky’s Louder Than Life event in September.
