Brace yourselves: It’s officially time to let Spiritbox’s much-anticipated Tsunami Sea album wash over you. After a few months of build-up, the djent-pop favorites finally opened up the floodgates to release their sophomore album.
As previously reported, the new record — which follows 2023’s multi-Grammy-nominated The Fear of Fear EP — was co-produced by Spiritbox guitarist Mike Stringer and studio collaborator Dan Braunstein, and features previously released cuts like the skeleton-compressing “Soft Spine,” the warmth-exuding “Perfect Soul,” and the electronica-and-spoken-word-quirked “No Loss, No Love.”
While the band had begun playing the wickedly djent-spiked and screamed “Fata Morgana” on their recent European tour, fans can now hear how they crushed the song in a studio setting.
Tsunami Sea likewise includes “Crystal Roses,” a song that was accidentally released and near-immediately removed from streamers earlier this week, with the unsanctioned leak having left Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante “extremely disappointed.”
Nevertheless, Tsunami Sea is out now courtesy of Pale Chord/Rise Records and you can ride the wave while streaming it via Youtube above or whatever your favorite digital music platform may be — or spinning it on CD or vinyl. Likewise, physical copies are available in Revolver’s shop.
Up next for Spiritbox is their big North American headline tour, which kicks off April 3rd at Dallas, Texas’ South Side Ballroom. The 24-stop tour hits both U.S. coasts and pops up to Canada for a few dates, too.
