Rising screamo band I PROMISED THE WORLD debut new song, announce first headline tour

Fort Worth, Texas’ I Promised the World have been picking up steam lately through a developing catalogue of earnest, nostalgic, Aughts-styled screamo — making fans and tourmates of Deafheaven and the Devil Wears Prada along the way. The rising quintet have now delivered “A Pure Expression,” via a new single of the same name.

The track is the second to be previewed from their forthcoming self-titled EP for Rise Records, behind last month’s Revolver-favorited “Bliss in 7 Languages.” This time, the band batter the speakers up front with triplet-judding mosh riffs and full-fury screams, though the tune eventually dustbowls into a Midwest-emo adjacent texturalism of clean-toned guitars and clean-sung vocals.

For fans of From Autumn to Ashes, Misery Signals, mid-period Grade and more, do check out the “A Pure Expression” video up above.

I Promised the World’s 5-song EP was produced by Jon Markson (Drug Church, DRAIN, Stay Inside) and Adam Cichocki, and sees release via Rise on January 9th. Pre-orders for CDs, cassettes and one-sided LPs can be found over here.

I Promised the World will launch their first-ever headline tour in January before linking up with the Devil Wears Prada throughout March and April. You’ll find their 2026 tour schedule down below.
