Long Island hardcore faction Pain of Truth have unleashed an untamed taste of their newly-announced self-titled album. A brawny bruise-tune full of beatdown-crazed riffs, massive divebombs and gang vocals galore, the track is called “UNFORGIVEN.”
The song was issued earlier today (July 22nd), and is confirmed to be the lead-off track from the group’s upcoming sophomore LP — which follows 2023’s Not Through Blood, and more recently a split release with Sunami that arrived in 2025.
A press release notes that the new album features songs that come “from a place of resistance, struggle, and drive.” With “UNFORGIVEN,” vocalist Michael Brian Smith shouts of the crushing weight of the world, and how some are adapting to the hellish surroundings of modern life.
“I wrote this track to give a sense of hope in horrible times,” Smith said in a statement, adding that “UNFORGIVEN” is about, “using your energy to make a move and turning it into a win.”
A new glass-smashing, performance-style music video for the song can be viewed up above. It was directed by Luis Hernandez and Tyler Bradberr.
Produced by Will Putney (Body Count, Better Lovers), the 11-song Pain of Truth is out September 25th through DAZE. That being said, an exclusive pre-order for the album on “Sea Blue Smoke”-colored vinyl, limited to 150 copies and bundled with a 24″x36″ poster insert, is available now in Revolver’s shop — along with alternate pressings of the new album and other Pain of Truth releases.
