After giving “Turn It Up” its live debut earlier in the spring, Orange 9mm have now unleashed a proper studio recording of the new song — marking the post-hardcore veteran’ first new song in 26 years. And they obviously want you to crank it the fuck up.
As previously reported, the band performed their latest bounce-laden creation in March, whilst opening up for Refused and Quicksand at the Paramount in Brooklyn, New York.
Vocalist Chaka Malik holler-raps his way through lines about picking up the pieces and taking control of his life, while the rest of the band — currently comprising guitarist Taylor McLam, bassist Cory Bonfiglio (Total Meltdown) and drummer Chris Enriquez (Spotlights, Julie Christmas) — lay the smack down with a series of start-stopping cymbal hits, moto-fueled wah riffs, Hendrix-ian seventh chords and more.

As previously reported, Orange 9mm revealed late last year that they were “recording new shit.” It’s as-yet unclear if more songs are on the way or if “Turn It Up” was the lone result of the sessions.
O9mm’s last full-length release was 1999’s Pretend I’m Human. The band contributed a new version of the title track to the upcoming benefit compilation The Dogs of Hope, which also features rare and previously unreleased songs from Killswitch Engage, Snapcase, Deadguy, Quicksand’s Walter Scheifels and more.
