Muse know how to get heavy — they’ve covered Deftones and Slipknot onstage, and leaned into their metal influences on songs like “Won’t Stand Down” and “Kill or Be Killed.” Following suit, Matt Bellamy and Co.’s latest packs a punch with crunching riffage and cyberpunk flourishes not far flung from those of Bring Me the Horizon and Bad Omens.
The stand-alone single marks Muse’s first new music since 2022 album Will of the People, and while today (June 20th) sees its official release, the band have actually kicked off their 2025 European tour in Helsinki a week ago with “Unravelling” as the surprise opener.
