Before fully tugging at our heartstrings with the release of their final album later this week, Megadeth have unveiled one more pre-release preview, a hard-rockin’ number named “Puppet Parade.”
The tune takes on a slower, steadier pace than earlier previews like “Tipping Point” and “Let There Be Shred,” with “Puppet Parade” leaning into a mid-paced, “Symphony”-esque feel full of dramatic chord choices. Dave Mustaine delivers a statelier sneer whilst musing on daily drudgery, malaise and society’s fate (“No voice, no choice / You must obey”).
All the same, lead guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari cuts through the moody haze with dynamic solo finesse, as you can hear up above.
As previously reported, the band’s self-titled studio swansong, Megadeth, is out January 23rd via BLKIIBLK. The album is available to pre-order on CD, cassette, and on an exclusive “Blue Flame” vinyl in Revolver’s shop.
