Marilyn Manson has officially returned. Fresh off his summer comeback tour and a trio of recent singles, the shock rocker has now released his first album in four years, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1.
As previously reported, Manson had teased the collection throughout the second half of the year with pre-release offerings “As Sick as the Secrets Within,” “Raise the Red Flag” and most recently “Sacrilegious,” all of which run the gamut from darkly brooding anthemic rock to stomping industrial metal to glam-goth pomp. Following those previews, the rest of the nine-song album is now streaming for all to hear, while the new Bill Yukich-directed music video for the title track is available to view.

One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 follows 2020’s We Are Chaos, and is Manson’s first album issued through his new label home, Nuclear Blast. It features prolific film composer Tyler Bates on guitars, bass, guitarviol and keyboards, and former Dillinger Escape Plan member Gil Sharone on drums — both of whom also worked with Manson on 2015’s The Pale Emperor and 2017’s Heaven Upside Down. They also both play in his current live band, which is now rounded out by Code Orange guitarist Reba Meyers and former Rob Zombie bassist Piggy D.
“One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 is the first half of my story,” Manson commented on social media. “These songs were conjured from purgatory, and are as raw as a row of broken teeth that slightly resemble a smile. My art is what I live for.
“This album means to me exactly what I choose it to mean. I hope when you listen it is the same for you.”
Manson’s recent comeback has not arrived without controversy, of course. Over the past few years, the rocker has faced accusations of sexual abuse from numerous women, though Manson has denied all the allegations. The singer has contested these claims across numerous court battles, with many of the cases having since been settled or dismissed.
While his 2025 plans remain largely unconfirmed, Manson is scheduled to perform at May’s Welcome to Rockville festival in Florida. He’ll play on Sunday, the 18th, right before the night’s main headliners, Korn.
