It’s finally here.
After “leaking” their latest single last week alongside drummer-influencer Kristina Rybalchenko, nu-metal daddies Limp Bizkit have officially unveiled their first new song in four years. What’s wilder is that the groove-heavy tune arrives under the eyeball-popping title “Making Love to Morgan Wallen” — an irreverent nod to the controversial country singer.
As previously reported, an IG post from Rybalchenko last week found the drummer snapping snare hits about a supremely Bizkit-y arrangement of bumpin’ bass tones, squelchy synths a nu-chunked chorus. Through it all, Durst rapped of grippin a mic like a waffle cone, and delivered age-old wisdom via a chorus of “When you’re hot, you’re hot/When you’re not, you’re not.”
Back when that post dropped, Durst popped into the video to comically scorn the leaker (“That’s our new song, it’s not out yet!”). Now, the fully-sanctioned swag-out — Limp Bizkit’s first new music since delivering their Still Sucks LP in 2021 — is out, and it’s just as over-the-top, funky, headbangable and gleefully sophomoric as the teaser clip suggested. Notably, it opens with the line “Damn, I miss you Chester, sending love from my bass compressor,” an apparent shout-out to late Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington.
You can check out Durst and Co.’s new single via the player up above. According to Louisville, Kentucky, radio station ALT 105.1, the song will appear on the soundtrack for the forthcoming Battlefront 6 video game, which is due out October 10th.
