HEALTH’s forthcoming Conflict DLC may not be out in full until December, but the L.A.-based industrial-twisters are heading into battle early with a brand new banger called “Vibe Cop.” Better yet, they’ve enlisted Lamb of God guitarist Willie Adler to pull out the big guns on the track.
The tune, which follows first Conflict DLC single “Ordinary Loss,” is described in a press release as being “a score for alienation, endurance, and moments of truth in emptiness,” and likewise pays homage to the industrial gods of yore that inspired the drive of the new LP. The trio further quipped in a statement: “Contains more guitars than usual.”
Indeed, the severe, wrist-grinding riffage Adler affixes to the hard-slamming song gives off a strong Ministry circa “Just One Fix” vibe, though HEALTH’s Jacob Duszik delivers his grim-toned musings (“Follow your dreams, just keep it to yourself”) with a signature moody coolness rather than an Al Jourgensen-esque wail.
You can check out the song via the performance-style video up above.
As previously reported, HEALTH’s Conflict DLC is out December 11th via Loma Vista Recordings. Pre-orders for an exclusive vinyl variant on coke bottle clear wax (limited to 400) are already up in Revolver’s shop, where you can likewise find other HEALTH albums and t-shirts.
The band likewise revealed a North American headline tour that kicks off next spring, while they have a bunch of dates with Pierce the Veil coming up this month. You’ll find the full HEALTH schedule here.
