After announcing the “heaviest tour of 2026” earlier in the week, Lamb of God have unveiled a new tune that’s going to absolutely crush when they bring it to stages next spring. The Virginia metal icons’ latest song is a tech-critical, anti-algorithm thrasher called “Parasocial Christ.”
While last month’s sludgy-then-speeding “Sepsis” single was a full-blown celebration of their hometown heavy-music scene, “Parasocial Christ” is a bitter beatdown that finds vocalist Randy Blythe steaming over the lack of substance he sees online these days. Above feverishly drilling guitars and drums, it also sees him lamenting the casualties of social media and online news-cycle addiction. (“Another victim of a social habit”).
“The Information Age has birthed the attention economy, an industry worth hundreds of billions of dollars anchored in keeping eyeballs firmly glued to screens, thus generating ad revenue,” Blythe commented. “Every second spent clicking and scrolling through the trivial and/or sordid details of other people’s lives, people that you will most likely never meet — celebrities, politicians, influencers — is another dollar in some already obscenely wealthy tech bro’s wallet.”
He continues bleakly: “You are a product, and you are being sold in a marketplace you have no share in. The irony of you reading this [on] some social media platform or music news aggregator site is not lost on me; nevertheless I hope this song might make you consider who and what you give your attention to.
“Fuck the clickbait, put down the phone, go live your life — it’s waiting for you out in what’s left of the real world.”

“Parasocial Christ” is Lamb of God’s second single of 2025. The band have yet to announce plans for the full-length follow-up to 2022’s Omens.
