Coming off a handful of earlier single releases, former Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley has formally announced the debut album from his current Many Eyes project. The band’s first full-length is called The Light Age, and they’re blazing a metallic-hardcore trail with a sneak preview called “Harbinger.”
A taste of things to come, “Harbinger” is a heavy-edged attack of noise-chugged guitars and Buckley’s familiar howl, here apparently weighing in on the waking world’s precarious balance between war and peace, and how everything is seemingly just ready to go up in a blaze.
“‘Harbinger’ feels like the end of the world is suddenly happening, so that’s what the lyrics are about,” Buckley posited of the track in a press release. You can check out the end-times banger up above in a lyric video.
As for the rest of The Light Age, the record will indeed feature the previously released singles “Revelation,” “Future Proof” and “Mystic Cord.” The album was recorded by drummer Nick Bellmore at Dexters Lab Recording in Milford, Connecticut.
While Many Eyes was formed in 2022 by Buckley, Bellmore and the drummer’s brother Charlie Bellmore on guitar and bass, last week the project announced that the latter had exited the group, with a new live lineup being rounded-out by guitarist Craig Vittorio (Tzarina) and bassist Sean Vallie.
“We could not have gotten this project off the ground without him,” Many Eyes wrote of Charlie Bellmore on Instagram. “We wish him nothing but the best with all of his current and future projects and look forward to the possibility of writing with him again when the time comes.”
For his part, Charlie Bellmore wrote in a separate Instagram post that he was “completely heartbroken” to learn he was no longer in the band, but he’s also set to keep moving forward. “Does it suck? Yes, it absolutely does,” he wrote, adding, “what can ya do?”
The Light Age is out September 6th through Perseverance Media Group, and Many Eyes will support the album on a stretch of dates headlining appearances and a tour opening for Canadian pop-punkers Sum 41. You’ll find the tracklisting and tour info down below.
