Hear ICE NINE KILLS cover “Walking on Sunshine” with REEL BIG FISH

When Ice Nine Kills aren’t paying homage to their favorite horror movies, Spencer Charnas and Co. are often hailing some of their favorite pop songs, having covered hits by everyone from Adele and Michael Jackson to Maroon 5 and blink-182.

Now, INK have managed to do both in one fell swoop, delivering a delirious, horns-heavy rendition of Katrina and the Waves’ “Walking on Sunshine,” a song that appeared prominently in the cinematic adaption of American Psycho, a frequent Charnas touchstone. As an added bonus, the cover features one of Charnas’ most beloved bands, ska veterans Reel Big Fish.

“It’s no secret to INK fans that ska punk and horror movies are what pumps through my bloodstream,” Charnas commented. “When the opportunity arose to combine one of my favorite films with one of my favorites bands of all time, I didn’t just jump at the chance, I skanked over to my nail gun, axe and chainsaw and bludgeoned out my favorite cover we’ve ever done.”

The cover of “Walking on Sunshine” appears on the soundtrack to Sumerian ComicsAmerican Psycho series.

Next up for Ice Nine Kills, the band are set to hit the road with In This Moment for the “Kiss of Death Tour, Part 2” starting August 6th in Saratoga Springs, New York. You can find the full itinerary here.
